This Saturday (28th September) will see the 7th Annual Mallee Root Festival held at the Ouyen Lake.
The event attracts people from right across the Mallee as competitors compete for the title of the biggest tosser of the Mallee Root (or Stump).
The event is broken into 5 categories - under 10, 14 and 17 as well as the open category and the over 50's which is better known as the old mad rooter.
Apart from the tossing, there will be plenty of live entertainment, as well as the AFL grand final on the big screen.
The event start at 2pm and runs until late in the evening with the live entertainment
Camping spots are available on the lake or there are a few other options available.
