Lake Cullulleraine was set to gain a new attraction, with plans announced for an inflatable water park.
At the time of the original announcement, the Lake Cullulleraine Inflatable Water Park was gearing up for a mid-to-late December opening, with plans to operate through to April.
Proposed operating days were Thursday through to Sunday.
Located approximately 60 kilometres from Mildura, Lake Cullulleraine was seen as an ideal location for the attraction.
The project was expected to provide a boost for accommodation providers around the lake while giving Sunraysia locals another recreational activity.
At the time, Mildura Rural City Council was working with the proposed water park operator to have everything in place for a successful opening.
Lake Cullulleraine was already a popular spot for weekend getaways and longer holidays.
Its walking track around the lake provides opportunities to see local wildlife, while the lake is also known for water skiing and fishing.
BBQ facilities make it a convenient destination for a day trip or a longer stay.
The proposed inflatable water park was expected to add another reason to visit, particularly for families looking for activities within easy reach of Mildura.
