Mildura is gearing up for a weekend of polished chrome, classic cars and plenty of horsepower as the Desert City Rodders Goanna Run returns from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 October.
The annual event attracts hot rod and custom car enthusiasts from across Australia, bringing an impressive collection of classics, street rods and beautifully restored vehicles to Sunraysia.
Now in its 38th year, the Goanna Run has become a familiar fixture on Mildura's events calendar, bringing visitors into the region and providing plenty of entertainment for locals.
While some of the weekend's activities are reserved for registered entrants, there are two major opportunities for the public to get out and enjoy the cars.
Saturday Night — Feast Street Comes Alive
One of the highlights will be Saturday night's car display in Mildura's City Heart.
From 5pm to 9:30pm on Saturday 24 October, Langtree Avenue and the surrounding designated event area will be transformed into a display of hot rods, classics and custom cars.
There'll be live music, plenty of chrome to admire and a chance to enjoy the atmosphere of Feast Street.
Visitors are encouraged to get into the spirit of the event with Rockabilly and Rock 'n' Roll fashion, while local restaurants and traders will be welcoming the crowds.
If you're planning to have dinner in Feast Street, booking ahead is a good idea.
Sunday — Show 'n' Shine at Nowingi Place
The big public car display takes place on Sunday 25 October at Nowingi Place, along Mildura's riverfront.
Starting at 8:30am, the Show 'n' Shine will feature a wide variety of hot rods, classics and custom vehicles.
There'll also be live music from The Silverados, food vans, a colouring competition and activities for the kids.
Show 'n' Shine presentations are scheduled for 12:30pm.
It's a great opportunity to take your time wandering through the display and getting a closer look at some impressive machinery.

A Great Weekend for Mildura
The Goanna Run is more than just a gathering of car enthusiasts.
It brings visitors into town, supports local accommodation and hospitality businesses, and gives residents another reason to get out and enjoy what's happening around Sunraysia.
And you certainly don't need to be a dedicated car enthusiast to appreciate it.
Whether it's a beautifully restored classic, a wild custom creation or simply the sight of Feast Street filled with hot rods, there's plenty worth checking out.
