Mildura Carols by Candlelight

If you’re looking for a magical way to begin the festive season in Sunraysia, then you won’t want to miss Mildura Carols by Candlelight this Saturday, 13 December 2025 at Nowingi Place, Mildura.

What to Expect

Why Nowingi Place Makes This Event So Special
The venue is well set up for events like this: there’s a proper stage, public-address system, ample space, and parking — so everyone can settle in comfortably.
It’s the kind of spot where you can spread out a picnic rug or bring a camping chair, soak up the river breeze, and share a classic Christmas carol night with friends and family.

A Beloved Local Christmas Tradition

On the night a collection will be taken in support of the Mildura Senior College Chaplaincy program

  • Food & drinks begin from 6:30 pm, so get there early to grab something tasty before the main show.

  • The main program runs from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm — expect classic carols, community singing, and a warm festive atmosphere under the stars.

  • And yes — Santa arrives at around 8:45 pm, so be sure to bring the kids (or your inner child) for a special visit.

Nowingi Place sits on the banks of the mighty Murray River — a beautiful, scenic backdrop that adds a calm, riverside magic to the evening. mildura.vic.gov.au+1

Organisers recommend you come prepared with:

  • Picnic rugs or camping chairs

  • Sunscreen, a hat, and maybe insect repellent

  • A bit of Christmas spirit!

But you’ll want to leave at home:

  • Large beach umbrellas or tents (no shade structures allowed)

  • Glass items, BBQs, sparklers/fireworks — this is a smoke, alcohol, and pet-free event.

Mildura Carols by Candlelight has been a cherished highlight for the community for over 76 years — a beloved Christmas tradition that brings people together to sing, celebrate, and start the festive season with warmth and togetherness.

If you’re in Sunraysia (or up for a little drive), I’d say grab a rug, bring your loved ones, and make a night of it — this year’s carols at Nowingi Place promise to be cozy, community-spirited, and full of festive cheer.
