Heads up, Sunraysia — there’s been a last-minute location change for Mildura’s official Australia Day celebrations this Monday, 26 January 2026.
The event was originally planned for Nowingi Place, but it’s now been moved to the Mildura Sporting Precinct due to the forecast extreme heat — a smart call to keep everyone a bit more comfortable and, most importantly, safe.
The new location
✅ Mildura Sporting Precinct
📍 684 Deakin Avenue, Mildura
What hasn’t changed
The best part: everything else stays the same — it’s just a venue switch.
⏰ Start time: 8:00am
🕚 Finish: 11:00am

What’s happening on the morning
Expect the usual Australia Day goodness, including:
🏆 Australia Day Awards presentation
🎶 Live entertainment
🌭☕ Free Lions Club breakfast + free coffee
A quick local tip
Even with the move, it’s still shaping up as a warm one — so bring a drink bottle, and if you’ve got them, a hat and sunscreen for moving around before/after the event. And yep, still worth throwing a chair or picnic rug in the car, because that’s just how we do community mornings around here.
Can’t make it into Mildura?
Other Australia Day gatherings around the region - Underbool, Irymple, Colignan, Millewa, Merbein, Red Cliffs, Murrayville, Ouyen.
If you’re heading along, sing out to someone you know who was planning on Nowingi — make sure they don’t rock up to the wrong spot. Mildura’s still putting on the same celebration… just at a new home base this year.
