Trail of Lights Closed for the Heatwave (24–29 January) – Here’s Your Mildura Plan B 🌡️✨

Just a heads-up for anyone who had Bruce Munro’s Trail of Lights on the weekend (or mid-week) hit list…

Due to the hot weather / extreme conditions, the Trail of Lights will be closed from Saturday 24 January through to Thursday 29 January (inclusive). Safety first... because Lock Island and Mallee heat is no joke. 

If you’ve already got tickets or you were about to book, it’s worth keeping a close eye on official updates (conditions can change quickly in summer).

What to do instead: Indoor (and heat-smart) Mildura ideas ✅

Heatwave days don’t have to be wasted days, they just need a Plan B with air con.

This one’s a winner every time. If you’ve got kids, visitors, or you’re just keen for a proper cool-down, then pack the swimmers and make a splash session your main event.

🎭 2) Mildura Arts Centre (gallery + culture hit)

A cruisy indoor option with plenty to look at, and it’s a nice way to still soak up Mildura’s creative side without melting.

Bowling / arcade-style entertainment is perfect for families or a mate-date when it’s too hot to be outside.

Mildura does “sit back and refuel” very well. Grab an iced coffee, stretch out a long lunch, and let the worst of the heat pass.

Duck in and out of the shops, stay cool, and pick up a few goodies while you’re at it.
