Wentworth is putting on something a bit special for one night only, with a sunset cruise aboard the PS Rothbury followed by an evening under the lights at Bruce Munro’s Fibre Optic Symphonic Orchestra, better known as FOSO.
The event will be held on Saturday 27 June, departing from the Wentworth Wharf at 5:00pm.
It is a pretty good combination when you think about it. A two-hour cruise on the Murray and Darling Rivers, a look at the famous Junction from the water, dinner on board, and then the chance to step off and continue the night surrounded by one of Wentworth’s most talked-about light experiences.
The PS Rothbury will depart Wentworth Wharf for the sunset cruise, taking passengers along the river as the afternoon light drops away. For locals and visitors alike, it is a chance to see Wentworth from a different angle and not just from the riverbank, but from the water itself.
The cruise includes a carvery dinner and dessert, with access to the licensed onboard bar. After the cruise, guests will continue on to the FOSO experience, where Bruce Munro’s light and sound installation will take over the evening.
Tickets are $125 per person, and numbers are strictly limited.
This is one of those events that brings together a few of Wentworth’s best drawcards in the one night — the rivers, the paddle boat, the Junction, dinner, and the lights of FOSO. It is the sort of thing that should appeal to visitors looking for a memorable night out, but also locals who sometimes forget just how good these experiences are right on our doorstep.
